Mint Julep

mint21 teaspoon sugar or 1/2 oz. simple syrup
1 teaspoon water
8 fresh mint leaves, plus sprigs for garnish
1 cup crushed ice
2 1/2 oz. Colorado Bourbon
Stir sugar and water in a glass until sugar dissolves. Add mint.
With a wooden spoon, mash leaves until bruised. Fill with crushed ice
and add Colorado Bourbon. The crushed ice is key. Stir well; take the time
to stir it gently until the glass gets frosty. Garnish with mint sprigs. Serves 1
